Team leads are in place. Alphabetically, they are:

Chantal Cloutier: Crisis Operations
Overall operational response to, and recovery from, the crisis event.

Stephane D’aragon: Security
Volunteer security coordination at the gates and beach access (Neighbourhood Watch), mechanical support for home and site generators, and emergency medical response.

Karen Kemp: Business Liaison
Local business needs for service resumption.

Tom Shipley: Water Management
Sourcing, delivery, and distribution of water.

Dennis Southgate and Brenda Bourgeault Southgate: Fundraising
Immediate, medium-term, and long-term cash needs.

James Whittall: Communications
Written communications to homeowners about the activities of the crisis management committee.

Each committee member is responsible to resolve all priority issues that are within his or her mandate. Team leader meetings will be daily. All progress and achievements will be communicated to homeowners at the end of each day until the more immediate crisis (water, security, electricity) is over.

Volunteers Needed

We have an immediate need for volunteers for our Neighbourhood Watch. Neighbourhood Watch teams will consist of two community members. Shifts will rotate and be two hours long. There will be Watch shifts at night. These shifts will include securing the gate and patrolling regularly, as a team, to ensure the safety of the beach access area while the rest of us sleep. When volunteering, please indicate any medical issues that would prevent you from taking a night shift. If you’re a night owl, let us know!
Please contact Stephan D’aragon to volunteer.

How Else to Help

At this time, team leads are organizing for their responsibilities. If you possess specific professional expertise that might help the team leads named above, please contact them directly to volunteer. If you want to bring coffee to Neighbourhood Watch volunteers, see to others’ fuel needs and generator maintenance, or anything that you think might be of service to the community, please consider giving of your time.

Headquarters

Claude Dugas and Sylvie Bond have very generously provided commercial space that the crisis management committee can use to centralize our activities, especially for fundraising and volunteer coordination. “Anything you need, just ask.” Thank you, Claude and Sylvie.

Stay Positive

We are all under enormous stress, and tempers can flare. Stay positive. Help is coming.

The power will not come back as soon as we all would like. But it will be back on.

The gates are unattended. But they won’t be much longer.

Water is scarce. There will be more water.

Life will return to normal. Better, because we are all working on this solution, together.

Today, we formed a crisis management committee to oversee functions that are critical to the daily operation of Mirador San Jose.

[5
10,9,8
post-64","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-english","tag-crisis-management-committee","tag-team-leaders","tag-volunteer
["GET
